What is Studio Ghibli?
Studio Ghibli, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社スタジオジブリ Hepburn: Kabushiki gaisha Sutajio Jiburi) is a Japanese animation film studio based in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. The studio is best known for its anime feature films, and has also produced several short films, television commercials, and one television film. It was founded in 1985, by the director Hayao Miyazaki and the producer Toshio Suzuki after the success of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), the film they collaborated on. Miyazaki also invited the director/producer/screenwriter Isao Takahata to join the new studio. The publishing company Tokuma Shoten provided the funding. Studio Ghibli has also collaborated with video game studios on the visual development of several video games
